Campaign Priorities

The following priorities are presented by the Sahoo campaign. They represent campaign positions and should not be interpreted as statements by the City of Milpitas.

1

Open City Hall

Make budgets, project timelines, permits, and city decisions easier for residents to understand and track.

2

Responsible Growth

Connect growth with traffic planning, schools, utilities, parks, and protections for existing neighborhoods.

3

Safer Streets

Focus on practical improvements intended to make Milpitas streets safer for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and families.

4

Effective City Services

Emphasize responsive municipal services and clear accountability for projects and taxpayer-funded programs.

Why the Mayor's Race Matters

Milpitas uses a council-manager form of government. The City Council establishes policy and provides policy guidance to the administration, while professional city staff manage day-to-day municipal operations.

The mayor is one of five elected members of the City Council. The mayoral seat is elected at-large, so eligible voters throughout Milpitas participate in the election.

The 2026 election will fill one mayoral seat for a two-year term expiring in 2028.
